Literature
This work is about honing one’s attention to a minute focal point found within each piece. By close examination or contemplation of detail, a sense of the interchangeability of micro and macrocosmic space takes place. When this is communicated, the voice that comes through a seed pod or a beetle, by it’s very being, exists simultaneously as part of the whole of nature and the whole voice of nature itself.
Minimalistic and ordered constructions were chosen to create a particular space that both isolates and honors these organic bodies. Because these pieces have a quiet, soft spoken quality or reductive simplicity, I see this work collecting it’s energy through the relationship between individual pieces, gathering power as in a chorus of whispers.
